I'm Molly Jay, a photographer based out of Saint Paul, Minnesota! In 2017, I started my photography business as 1000 Words Photography. In 2024, I left my full time work in the Twin Cities Theater scene to pursue photography full time. With that change came a new name and brand: Molly Jay Photography & Design.

As a theater-maker turned photographer, I'm a firm believer that stories are at the heart of our humanity. I'm passionate about combining my love of the arts with the photo work I do. My specialty is in acting headshots in addition to theatrical and dance production photos, but I also bring my storytelling skills to family, senior, and engagement sessions in addition to weddings and events.

When I'm not working, I enjoy reading (give me your book recs!), spending time with my husband and dog, lifting weights, and traveling.
